REMEMBER THE LORD JESUS CHRIST.

Every bowl in the tabernacle speaks about the lord Jesus Christ.  The Lord Jesus Christ was the theme of the Old Testament. He was the promised Messiah. The Lord Jesus Christ would come from the stem of Jesse,  who was a farmer  -  a herder of sheep  -  David was His youngest son and the Lord Jesus came from the offspring of David.

Isaiah 7:13-16  "Hear ye now O house of David:  It is a small thing for you to weary men,  but will ye weary my God also?  Therefore the Lord Himself shall give you a sign;  Behold,  the virgin shall conceive,  and bear a son,  and shall call His name Immanuel.  Butter and honey shall He eatthat He may know to refuse evil,  and choose the good.  For before the child shall know to refuse the evil, and choose the good,  the land that thou abhorrest shall be forsaken by both her kings."

REMEMBER THE LORD JESUS CHRIST IN HIS MIRACULOUS BIRTH.

They shall call His name Immanuel  -  God with us.  The virgin Mary would bring a Son into the world,  they would call Him Jesus because He would save His people from their sins.  But,  He cannot save His people from their sins,  unless He  is  Immanuel.  Every time we call Him  Jesus,  we are saying,  God with us.  He is God with us and for us.  He is our Saviour.  He is the Saviour of the whole world but each individual person has to accept Him personally as their Saviour.  Oh my dear reader,  Have you invited Him to be your personal Saviour?  Please ask Him right now to come into your heart and be your Saviour.  He is longing to come into your heart and have true fellowship with you.

HYMN.   Come to my heart Lord Jesus.  (Sacred Songs & Solos  No 35)

Played by Losinda.

Verse 1.

THOU DIDST LEAVE THY THRONE AND THY KINGLY CROWN

WHEN THOU CAMEST TO EARTH FOR ME:

BUT IN BETHLEHEM'S HOME WAS THERE FOUND NO ROOM

FOR THY HOLY NATIVITY.

OH COME TO MY HEART LORD JESUS!

THERE IS ROOM IN MY HEART FOR THEE!

OH COME TO MY HEART LORD JESUS,  COME!

THERE IS ROOM IN MY HEART FOR THEE!

Verse 2.

Heaven arches rang when the angels sang,

Proclaiming Thy royal degree;

But of lowly birth cam'st Thou,  Lord,  on earth

And in great humility.

OH COME TO MY HEART LORD JESUS!

THERE IS ROOM IN MY HEART FOR THEE!

OH COME TO MY HEART LORD JESUS,  COME!

THERE IS ROOM IN MY HEART FOR THEE!

Verse 3.

The foxes found rest,  And the birds had their nest

In the shade of the forest tree:

But Thy couch was the sod,  O Thou Son of God,

In the deserts of Galilee.

OH COME TO MY HEART LORD JESUS!

THERE IS ROOM IN MY HEART FOR THEE!

OH COME TO MY HEART LORD JESUS,  COME!

THERE IS ROOM IN MY HEART FOR THEE!

Verse 4.

Thou camest,  O Lord,  With the living Word

THAT SHOULD SET THY PEOPLE FREE;

But with mocking scorn And with crown of thorn

THEY BORE THEE TO CALVARY.

OH COME TO MY HEART LORD JESUS!

THY CROSS IS MY ONLY PLEA!

OH COME TO MY HEAR LORD JESUS,  COME!

THY CROSS IS MY ONLY PLEA!

Verse 5.

When heaven's arches shall ring,  And her choirs shall sing

AT THY COMING TO VICTORY;

Let Thy voice call me home, Saying,  Yet there is room,

There is room at my side for thee.

AND MY HEART SHALL REJOICE LORD JESUS!

WHEN THOU COMEST AND CALLEST FOR ME!

AND MY HEART SHALL REJOICE LORD JESUS!

WHEN THOU COMEST AND CALLEST FOR ME!   AMEN.

REMEMBER THE LORD JESUS CHRIST IN HIS DEATH.

The Lord Jesus Christ became the sacrifice for the sins of the world.  As  He was suspended on the cross of Calvary between heaven and earth He became the ladder,  let down from heaven to this earth,  so that man might have a way to God.  Actually,  we were there because He was made sin for us.  He who knew no sin,  was made sin for us

2 Corinthians 5:21  "...that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him."

We were with Him on that cross when He died just as we are today in Him by faith.

1 Peter 2:24  "Who His own self bare our sins in His own body on the tree,  that we,  being dead to sins,  SHOULD LIVE UNTO RIGHTEOUSNESS:  by whose stripes ye were healed."

Hebrews 2:9  "...that He by the grace of God should taste death for every man."

We were healed from sin. God became Man,  so that He might redeem sinful man.

Hebrews 2:14   "Foreasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood,  He also Himself likewise took part of the same;  that through death He might destroy him that had the power of death,  that is,  the devil."

The Lord Jesus could save no one by His life.  It was His sacrificial death that saves.  We see the Lord Jesus Christ on the cross as the perfect man. He had learned to trust god in all that He did.  He said

John 8:29  "....for I do always those things that please Him."

Yet in His desperate hour He was abandoned by God.  He had no place to go.  THE MAN CHRIST JESUS IS FORSAKEN.  No other person has ever had to experience that. Why did God forsake Him?  BECAUSE HE WAS MADE SIN FOR US.  Meditate on  Psalm 22.  It will reveal the heart of our Saviour as He was made a sin offering on our behalf.  He was forsaken for a brief moment.  God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself.

John 16:32  "Behold the hour cometh,  yea,  is now come,  that ye shall be scattered,  every man to his own,  and shall leave me alone:  AND YET I AM NOT ALONE,  BECAUSE THE FATHER IS WITH ME."

The Father was with Him when He was arrested.  The Father was with Him when He stood before the high priest. The Father was with Him when He was beaten.  The Father was with Him when He stood before Pilot.  The Father was with Him when they nailed Him to the cross.  But in those last three hours that He made His soul an offering for sin,  it pleased the Father,  to bruise Him.  Forsaken.  We can never know what that meant to Him.  No person on this earth has ever been forsaken of God.  Any  person can turn to Him,  no matter how vile or evil that person might be.  The Lord Jesus alone was forsaken of God when He took my sin upon Himself.

Matthew 27:46  "My God,  My God  Why hast Thou forsaken me?"

This is the human cry of the intense suffering of our Saviour. That awful and agonizing cry of the loneliness of  His passion!  HE WAS ALL ALONE,  WITH THE SINS OF THE WORLD UPON HIM.

Psalm 22:1  "Why art thou so far from helping me,  and from the words of my roaring?"

ROARING?   At His trial He was silent.  When they beat Him He said nothing.  When they nailed Him to the cross He did not whimper.  BUT WHEN GOD FORSOOK HIM HE ROARED LIKE A LION.  IT WAS THE ROAR OF PAIN.  That cry from His heart I feel sure rent the rocks in twain for He who created them was in intense pain and suffering.

Psalm 22:6  "But I am a worm,"

THE LORD JESUS HAD REACHED THE LOWEST LEVEL.

Isaiah 53:3  "He was despised and rejected of men;  a man of sorrows,  and acquainted with grief:  and we hid as it were our faces from Him;  He was despised,  and we esteemed Him not."

My dear reader,  ONLY THE BLOOD OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST,  GODS ONLY SON,  CLEANSES US FROM ALL SIN.

The suffering of the Lord Jesus is intensified by the brutal mob of hardened spectators.

Psalm 22:7  "All they that see me laugh me to scorn;  they shoot out the lip,  they shake their head saying,  he trusted on the Lord that he would deliver him:  let him deliver him,  seeing he delighted in him."

The lowest thing that can ever be said of religion,  is said of these Pharisees.  They sat down and watched Him die.  I do not think that we can ever get any lower than that. They ridiculed Him in His death.  This is a clear picture of the human heart in rebellion against God.  It is at this point that the Lord Jesus said,

Luke 23:34  "Father forgive them for they know not what they do."

THE LORD JESUS ASKS FORGIVENESS FOR THEIR SINS.  If the Lord Jesus had not done this,  they would have committed the unpardonable sin.  We know that the centurion in charge of the execution was saved and also a whole company of Pharisees among whom was possibly Saul of Tarsus.

As the Lord Jesus looks at the crowd,  He not only sees they eyes of those who hate Him but He sees the eyes of His Mother.

John 19:26  "When Jesus therefore saw his mother,  and the disciples standing by,  whom he loved,  he saith unto his mother,  Woman behold thy son!  Then saith he to the disciple,  Behold thy mother!  And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home."

Notice the condition of the Lord Jesus

Psalm 22:14  "I am poured out like water,  and all my bones are out of joint:  my heart is like wax;  it is melted in the midst of my bowels."

This is terrible,  terrible suffering.  Then He says something strange,  "My heart is like wax."  The  Lord Jesus died of a broken heart.  John tells us that he saw the Roman soldier put a spear into the Lord Jesus' side and He recorded for us to see,  that blood and water poured out.  Many doctors agree that a ruptured heart will cause this to happen.

John 19:28  "Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished,  that the scripture might be fulfilled,  saith,   I THIRST."

The Lord Jesus also suffered the agony of thirst.

Psalm 22:15  "My strength is dried up like a potsherd;  and my tongue cleaveth to my jaws;  and thou hast brought me into the dust of death."

Psalm 22:16  "For dogs have compassed me:  the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me:  they pierced my hands and my feet."

He suffered great humiliation when he hung on the cross naked.  He did this,  so that you and I,  could be clothed with His righteousness,  and be able to stand before God throughout eternity.    O dear reader He is truly most wonderful.

John 19:30  "When Jesus had therefore received the vinegar,  he said,  IT IS FINISHED!

Oh dear reader the work of redemption is finished for all eternity.  In the Book of Revelation in the twenty second chapter we have the tree of life  and I do believe that the tree on which the Lord Jesus Christ died will be in heaven. We will praise Him for all eternity for our redemption.

Psalm 107:2  "O give thanks unto the Lord,  for He is good: for His mercy endureth forever.  LET THE REDEEMED OF THE LORD SAY SO,  WHOM HE HATH REDEEMED FROM THE HAND OF THE ENEMY."

Luke 23:46  "And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice,  he said,  Father,  INTO THY HANDS I COMMEND MY SPIRIT::  and having said this,  He gave up the ghost."

REMEMBER THE LORD JESUS CHRIST IN HIS RESURRECTION.

REMEMBER THAT THE LORD JESUS CHRIST IS COMING AGAIN.

The Lord Jesus must come again to complete the work of His first coming.  When the lord Jesus came to this earth the first time he finished the work of redemption.  He put down the foundation for your salvation and mine.

1 Corinthians 3:11  "For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid,  which is Jesus Christ."

The first time that He came,  although He won the victory,  He did not receive the kingdom.  Salvation you see is in three tenses.  I  have been saved,  I  am being  saved  and  I  shall be  saved.  All three are true.  The moment that we trust Christ we are saved for all eternity.  We are complete in Him.  But,  even so,  I am being saved  -

Philippians 2:12-13  ".....work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.  For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure."

The Lord Jesus took upon Himself the likeness of sinful flesh so that He could one day present you and me in His own likeness.  One day we will be like the Lord Jesus.  Though we are now the sons of God,  it does not yet appear what we shall be for

Romans 8:23  "....even we groan within ourselves,  waiting for the adoption ,  to wit the redemption of our body."

We have a redeemed body coming to us in the future.  A body that will have no no pain or disease or weakness.  O dear reader the redemption of the body is in the future.  One of these days we will receive a new body.  What a gift that will be for so very many of Gods children,  myself included.  Today there are many broken hearts,  the hospitals are filled with folk who are ill and the cemeteries are being filled up as we speak.  Nature itself is groaning,  the waves are sobbing and the wind is sighing.  All are waiting for the day when Christ Jesus shall return and lift the curse.

Revelation 21:1, 2-3  "And I saw a new heaven and a new earth:  For the first heaven and the first earth were passed away;  and there was nom more sea."  " And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying,  Behold the tabernacle of God is with men,  and He will dwell with them,  and they shall be His people,  and God Himself shall be with them,  and be their God.  And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes;  and there shall be no more death,  neither sorrow,  nor crying,  neither shall there be any more pain:  for the former things are passed away."

WHAT A GLORIOUS DAY THAT WILL BE.

Will you have a part in that day?  Are you rightly related to the Lord Jesus Christ?  Do you know Him as your personal Saviour?  If you have not yet accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as your Saviour then all you have to do is receive Him in simple faith.  Just as a child reaches out and receives a gift.  God is holding out to you and the entire lost world,  the gift of eternal life in Christ Jesus.

John 1:11-12  "He came unto His own and His own received Him not.  But as many as received Him,  to them gave He the power to become the sons of God,  even to them that believe on His name."

The first time the Lord Jesus came to this earth,  He came as the Saviour.  The next time He comes,  He will come as the worlds Sovereign.  He Himself said,

John 14:3  "....I WILL COME AGAIN.  and receive you unto myself:  that where I am there ye may be also."

Listen carefully to the warning words of this hymn.  BE IN TIME.

Verse 1.

Life at best is very brief,  Like the falling of a leaf,  Like the binding of a sheaf,

BE IN TIME!

Fleeting days are telling fast  That the die will soon be castAnd the fatal line be past:

BE IN TIME!

CHORUS.

BE IN TIME!  BE IN TIME!  WHILE THE VOICE OF JESUS CALLS YOU,

BE IN TIME!

IF IN SIN YOU LONGER WAIT,  YOU MAY FIND NO OPEN GATE,  AND YOUR CRY BE JUST TOO LATE

BE IN TIME!

Verse 2.

Fairest flowers soon decay,  Youth and beauty pass away;  Oh you have not long to stay:

BE IN TIME!

While God's Spirit bids you come,  Sinner,  Do not longer roam,  Lest you seal your hopeless doom:

BE IN TIME!

CHORUS.

Verse 3.

Time is gliding swiftly by,  Death and judgement draweth nigh,  To the arms of Jesus fly:

BE IN TIME!

Oh I pray you count the cost,  Ere the fatal line be crossed,  And your soul in hell be lost:

BE IN TIME!

CHORUS.

Verse 4.

Sinner heed the warning voice,  Make the Lord your final choice,  Then all heaven will rejoice:

BE IN TIME!

Come from darkness into light;  Come,  Let Jesus make you right;  Come and start for heaven tonight:

BE IN TIME!

CHORUS.

PRAYER OF PRAISE AND THANKS TO GOD THE EVERLASTING FATHER,  THE PRINCE OF PEACE.

Thank You Lord Jesus Christ that through Your death on that cruel cross (Greek xulon) of Calvary,  You made me fit for heaven.  Lord my deepest desire is to praise You continually for Your marvelous work of redemption and I do believe with all my being that there is NONE OTHER NAME UNDER HEAVEN GIVEN AMONG MEN,  WHEREBY WE MUST BE SAVED. O LORD THOU ART GOD OF VERY GOD.

Acts 13:29-30   "And when they had fulfilled all that was written of Him,  they took Him down from the tree  (xulon)  and laid Him in a sepulchre.  BUT GOD RAISED HIM FROM THE DEAD."

HALLELUJAH!    GLORY TO THE LORD JESUS CHRIST FOREVER!    AMEN!   AMEN!

Home.
