The word Gospel, means Good News.

It is described as the Gospel of God because it originates in His love.

It was God's plan

The facts of the Gospel are that

God Himself, in the PERSON of Jesus Christ, came to this earth to be crucified, to suffer, to bleed and to die, to offer His life as a ransom for all.

He died on the cross and was buried in a new tomb.

On the third day He arose bodily from that tomb and was seen by His disciples and many others.

Therefore the Gospel is a PERSON - the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ, and that Person came into this world,

Mark 10:45  "For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give His life a ransom  for many."

He had to pay a price for our redemption.

1 Peter 1:18-19  "Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, such as silver or gold,  from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathersBUT WITH THE PRECIOUS BLOOD OF CHRIST,  as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:"

This speaks to us of the objective work of God for our salvation.

We stood under the judgement of God, the Scripture says,

Ezekiel 18:4  "The soul that sinneth,  IT SHALL DIE."

God has not ever revoked that decree.

He is the same yesterday, today and forever.

GOD NEVER CHANGES.

The immutability of God is the terror of the wicked,  if they give any thought to it at all.

We today, think  that we are living in a new age of thoughts and values,  BUT GOD IS STILL THE SAME GOD -  HE,  HAS NOT CHANGED.

He knows the end from the beginning and therefore He has no reason to change.

God never ever needs any information because HE KNOWS ALL THINGS.

Past, present and future.

Everything in this world serves a purpose.

Every animal and every plant on this earth serves a purpose.

The sun, the moon and every star in the sky serves a purpose.

Life without God,  is meaningless.

God has a purpose in the world today.

He is  "Calling out a people" to His name and He is,

BRINGING MANY SONS TO GLORY.

Hebrews 2:10     "For it became Him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all thingsIN BRINGING MANY SONS TO GLORYto make the captain of their salvation perfect through suffering."

He is the object of faith and of the grace of God, because it is grace alone that saves those whom the Law curses.

Salvation is God's free gift package and is available to whosoever is willing to accept Him as their personal Saviour.

Those who trust Him, are placed in His body by the baptism of the Holy Spirit - they are joined to the Lord Jesus  -  become part of His body and are born again - separated unto Him, and able to function in His body.

The Gospel is the power of God to save all who believe.

IT SHUTS OUT ALL WORKS.

There isn't a single thing that man can ever offer to God for his own redemption.

Do you have anything,  that you,  can offer to God for your redemption?

Why not take Him at His word,  and accept His offer of salvation?

It is God who justifies the ungodly - their faith is counted to them for righteousness.

His desire is to give you a robe of righteousness, His righteousness. He longs for you to receive Him.

Please ask Him to come into your heart right now and be the Lord of your life.

1 Corinthians 6:17  "He that is joined to the Lord is one spirit."

The Judaizers did not deny the facts of the Gospel  -  that Jesus died and rose again. What they denied was that it was adequate.

They insisted that one had to keep the Law  as well as  trust Christ.

Paul says that whoever mingles the law and grace, should be damned.

Is not the price that the Lord Jesus paid for our redemption  adequate?

PRAYERFULLY MEDITATE:

Here is a though for those who are born-again.

It was springtime, the Passover season.  The surrounding hills were green, and there were wildflowers in profusion. It was even most beautiful. The disciples may have waited for the Lord Jesus to come.

Peter was possibly the one who would become impatient while waiting and, after pacing back and forth and looking up and down the shore, he would be the one to say,  "I am going fishing."  And the six others join him.

They fished all night and caught nothing.  These men fished all night without catching one fish! They had been restless before, and now they were frustrated. It is easy to fish when you catch fish and frustrating when you don’t.  They knew how to fish  -  that was the way they made their living  -   but that night of failure was in the will of God for them.

The psalmist says in

Psalm 1:3 speaking of God’s man,  "He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season."

The fruitage of man’s labor will come forth at a time when it will fit into God’s plan and purpose.

We are living in a day when everything is measured by materialism.

Mathematics is the language of success.

We have to learn that spiritual values cannot be determined by figures?

They fished all night and caught nothing!

It’s hard to fish when the fish are not biting.

Living according to the Lord Jesus Christ’s instructions is the most important thing!

Then on the Sea of Galilee morning dawned, and it must have been a glorious morning.

John 21:4   But when the morning had now come, Jesus stood on the shore; yet the disciples did not know that it was Jesus."

The Lord Jesus was in His glorified body, and He could be recognized; yet they would have been a distance out on the lake, and in the early morning it would be difficult to identify people on the shore.

John 21:5   "Then Jesus said to them, "Children,  have you any food?" They answered Him, "No."

The Greek word for "children" is almost like saying, "Sirs." It is not a term of endearment like  "little children"  in  1 John.

Their answer is   "No."

It is amazing how emphatic one can be and how little one likes to talk about failure. Although they answered Him, they did not want to talk about it. If they had had a good catch of fish, they would have been shouting about it.

This is a question The Lord Jesus is bound to ask every one of us someday:

"Did you catch anything?

What did you do for people down there on earth?"

John 21:6   "And He said to them, "Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some." So they cast, and now they were not able to draw it in because of the multitude of fish."

The whole thought here is that the Lord Jesus directs the lives of those who are His own.

He gives the instructions, and they are to be obeyed.

Obedience to the Word of God is all important.

When they fished according to His instruction, the net was filled.

Notice, the net does not break even though it is full.

There was another time recorded by Luke when Peter caught a miraculous number of fish. It was in the early days of Jesus’ ministry, and  He was calling Peter to be a fisher of men. That time the net broke. I think that Peter was to realize that many would follow Jesus, but they would not all be true believers - the net would break and many fish would swim away. This time however,  the net did not break  but was drawn to land, "full of large fish."

Peter was going to be called to feed the sheep and feed the lambs.

With what?

With the Word of God.

With  the Gospel of the  risen, glorified  Christ.

The Gospel will not only save us, but it will keep us saved  -  hold us to the end.

Even in our failures,  believers are kept by the power of God through faith.

Hallelujah

AMEN.

Most Gracious, All Adoring God,  our Heavenly Abba Father,  I  just want to Praise You with all of my being,  all that is within me,  Lord,  cries Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord our God,  this day for Your unspeakable goodness and mercy  which is higher than my understanding  and  I  thank You  for the Lord Jesus Christ who died for me on the tree of Calvary  and rose again so that I may live and move in Him and may praise You O God this day in His glorious, most wonderful,  all powerful, Holy Name.
