Eternal Life

John 3:15 "That whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life."

Eternal life is life in Christ Jesus.

Christ Jesus is eternal life.

Christ Jesus is the heir and we are joint-heirs.

Eternal life - true salvation, rests entirely in His finished work on the tree of Calvary.

This life is permanent and can never ever be taken away.

It is just like when a new born baby comes into this world, it can never go back into the mothers womb. The moment that a person accepts God's invitation and receives His Son as their personal Saviour, they are born-again. They are baptized by the Holy Spirit and placed in the body of Christ.

Once they are a part of His body, they immediately become part of the greater family of God, His new creation.

Now, that they are His dear children, they love Him. He is their Abba Father. They long to have fellowship with Him, to learn about Him, to praise Him and thank Him for His marvelous grace and endless MERCY. They keep His commandments because they love Him - they do those things that please the Father.

Their hearts desire is to do His will, to bring joy to His heart and glory and praise to His name.

They love to worship Him in spirit and in truth.

To God be the glory,

1 John 2:4 "He that saith, I know Him and keepeth not His commandments, is a liar and the truth is not in him."

This does not only mean that we tell lies but it also means that Christ Jesus who is the truth, in not in us.

Apostle John says in

1 John 5:12 "He that hath the Son hath life and he that hath not the Son hath not life."

Eternal life is in Christ, and in Him alone, because He is the resurrection and the life.

When we accept Him we believe that He died and that when He died we died in Him and just as He was raised from the dead we have been raised in Him, in newness of life. We are either in Christ or we arenot in Christ.

The Bible quite clearly tells us

1 John 2:5 "But whoso keepeth His Word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in Him."

John 10:28 "I give unto them eternal life, and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand."

A child of God delights in the Father.

Day by day the child of God desires to get to know Him.

The only way to get to know God is through Christ.

Colossians 2:9 "For in Him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily."

This is a complete statement of truth and it teaches us the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ.

He is 100% God.

As we learn to know Him, we grow to love Him more and more each day. We soon learn that He is God of very God.

We learn that He is holy, righteous, just, and true.

HE IS THE TRUTH, ALL TRUTH.

Once we start to learn about Him, we begin to realize, just who this wonderful Person, the Lord Jesus Christ, really is.

We begin to learn the fear of the Lord true reverence for God.

We begin to see the Lord Jesus Christ, it is like removing a blindfold, as we see Him clearer and clearer each new day.

We are filled with awe and wonder because He is so beautiful.

He is all grace, all mercy, all love, all compassion, and all kindness.

Oh He really is to marvelous and He left heavens glory to come to this earth, to be our Saviour, my Saviour and your Saviour.

He came to this earth to die on the tree of Calvary, so that all who believe and accept Him as Saviour, might live for ever.

He bore our guilt, all our sins were laid upon Him. He was wounded for our transgressions. He was bruised for our iniquities. Surely He bore our sorrows, and by His stripes we are healed.

I feel sure that those of us who have accepted the Lord Jesus as our personal Saviour, will spend our entire lives here on this earth and through all eternity, just praising Him for His unspeakable goodness to us.

Why He chose to redeem us.

The Lord Jesus was not a martyr.

He gave Himself willing, He was obedient unto death, even the death upon a cross.

He paid the ransom for me.
