John 1:1 "IN THE BEGINNING WAS THE WORD,  AND THE WORD WAS WITH GOD,  AND THE WORD WAS GOD."

John 1:14  "AND THE WORD WAS MADE FLESH,  AND DWELT AMONG US  (AND WE BEHELD HIS GLORY,  THE GLORY AS OF THE ONLY BEGOTTEN OF THE FATHER),  FULL OF GRACE AND TRUTH."

The Word was born flesh.

God comes out of eternity,

He already is the Ancient of days and He comes to Bethlehem and is born as a baby.  He pitched His tent among us.  The God of all eternity took upon Himself a human body,  and dwelt among us.

He was full of grace and truth.

He brought all the deity with Him.

How glorious is our wonderful God.

The WORD OF GOD tells us that He came " from the bosom of the Father."

He came to reveal the very heart of God to us and to make it possible for us to know God.

The only way we can ever get to know God is through  the Lord Jesus Christ,  because  He is very God.

When Christ Jesus was here on earth He was still God because He was full of grace and truth.

Divide this into 3  Past,  Present  and  Future.

In the past  -

John 1:1  "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God,  and the Word was God."

In the present  -

John 1:14  "The Word was made flesh ,  and dwelt among us and we beheld His glory,  the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,  full of grace and truth."

In the future  -

John 1:18   "No man hath  seen God at any time;  the only begotten Son,  who is in the bosom of the Father,  He hath declared Him."

The apostle Paul said at the end of his life

Philippians 3:10  "That I may know Him,  and the power of His resurrection.  and the fellowship of His sufferings,  being made conformable unto His death."

In the future  -  we will get to  know Him.

Today we know and understand so very little about Him because we are finite.

No man has ever seen God in His Spiritual Being or Essence.

But in the Old Testament,

Genesis 12:7   "And the Lord appeared unto Abram,  and said,  Unto thy seed will I give this land:  and there builded he an altar unto the Lord,  who appeared unto Him."

Then in Christ Jesus incarnate,  God has been seen of men.

The Lord Jesus speaking to Philip said,

John 14:9  "He that hath seen me hath seen the Father;  and how sayest thou then,  Show us the Father?"

The Lord Jesus  told the Samaritan woman in

John 4:24  "God is Spirit;  and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.  The woman saith unto Him,  I know that Messiah cometh,  who is called Christ;  when He is come,  He will tell us all things.  Jesus saith unto her,  I that speak unto thee am He."

1 John 1:1    "THAT WHICH WAS FROM THE BEGINNING,  WHICH WE HAVE HEARD,  WHICH WE HAVE SEEN WITH OUR EYES,  WHICH WE HAVE LOOKED UPON,  AND OUR HANDS HAVE HANDLED,  OF THE WORD OF LIFE  (FOR THE LIFE WAS MANIFEST AND WE HAVE SEEN IT,  AND BEAR WITNESS,  AND SHOW UNTO YOU THAT ETERNAL LIFE,  WHICH WAS WITH THE FATHER,  AND WAS MANIFEST UNTO US)--"

In our day we cannot see the Lord Jesus with our physical eyes but we can see Him with the eye of  faith In

1 Peter 1:8   Peter tell us that,  "Whom,  having not seen,  ye love;  though now ye see Him not,  yet believing,  ye rejoice with joy  unspeakable and full of glory."

We today need to spend time gazing upon the Lord Jesus in the WORD OF GOD.

We need to look to Him for salvation.

Eternal life  is a Person,  and that Person is the Lord Jesus Christ.

We either have Christ or we don't have Christ.

It is as simple as that.

We either trust Christ or we don't trust Christ.

All those who place their complete trust in the Lord Jesus Christ  as their personal  Saviour,  have eternal life in Him.

Does THE WORD OF GOD,  confirm to you,  that you are a child of God?

Is there evidence in your life,  that the Lord Jesus is abiding in you?

One of the evidences,  according to THE WORD OF GOD,  is that the true child of God,  hates sin.

There are many today who make a profession of being a Christian but actually, they are not.

Remember,  that the Lord Jesus said of Judas,

Luke 22:21 "But,  behold,  the hand of Him that betrayeth Me is with Me on My table."

Right there at the first communion service there was a traitor.

Judas Iscariot,  and he was identified with the group of disciples.

Jesus Himself said in

John 6:70  "Have I not chosen you twelve,  and one of you is a devil?"

Judas was never anything else even though he looked like an apostle,

he acted like an apostle  and

he had the power to perform miracles.

The other disciples could not tell that he was a phony.

GOD'S WORD tells us very plainly in

John 3:3   "Except a man be born again he cannot see the kingdom of God."

The real test of a true child of God,  is the Word of God.

The Word of God teaches us to face up to our sins.

Have I  come before God in true repentance?

Have I acknowledged my guilt and cast myself upon Him for my salvation?

Do I love the WORD OF GOD?

Does the WORD OF GOD satisfy my hunger and does it quench my thirst?

Do I love the Lord Jesus Christ and do I love the brethren?

These are the things that we need to consider if we are a true child of God.  The WORD OF GOD directs us to do this.

It is the WORD OF GOD that will establish us in the truth in this dark world.

It is the WORD OF GOD that will build us up, and enable us to abide in the Lord Jesus Christ and do His will.

It is the WORD OF GOD that will lead us to praise the Lord continually and do good things for those who are sad,  lonely  and disheartened in this world.

It will lead us to take care of widows and orphans and to help the poor among us.

The WORD OF GOD is a purifying agent, it will cleanse our hearts and purify our minds.

1 John 5:8  "And there are three that bear witness in earth,  the Spirit,  and the water,  and the blood;  and these three agree in one."

What is the agreement which these three witnesses have?

They all have one purpose,  and that is,  the purpose of presenting Christ Jesus as the Saviour of the world who shed His blood on Calvary and paid the penalty for our sins.

"There are three that bear witness in earth"  and these three are here right now.

The Holy Spirit,  will take  THE WORD OF GOD and apply it to your heart. He bears witness,  and that witness is that you will come to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.

How are you going to come to that knowledge?

The only way to get to know about salvation is in the WORD OF GOD.

The only way to get to know the Lord Jesus is to study the Scriptures.

He can be found on every page if we diligently seek Him.

The promised Holy Spirit will take the things of Christ and make them real to us.

THE WORD OF GOD assures us that all who ask,  will receive and all who seek,  WILL FIND  and all who  knock,  THE DOOR WILL BE OPENED.

Luke 11: 10   "For every one that asketh receiveth;  and he that seeketh findeth;  and to him that knocketh it shall be opened."

The blood of the Lord Jesus delivers us from the penalty of sin and the WORD OF GOD delivers us from the defilement of sin in the world today.

A cake of soap will clean up our lives on the outside but only the WORD OF GOD is able to clean up our lives on the inside and then keep us clean.

The miracle cleansing agent in the world today is the WORD OF GOD.

1 Peter 1:23 "Being born again,  not of corruptible seed,  but of incorruptible,  by the WORD OF GOD, which liveth and abideth forever."

The HOLY SPIRIT uses the WATER of THE WORD OF GOD, and applies THE BLOOD OF CHRIST JESUS my SAVIOUR,  for my salvation.

The apostle John is emphasizing here that these 3 bear witness on earth  -  they all agree in one,  -  that is,  -  they want me to get saved and they want to keep me saved.

This is a most wonderful truth dear reader.

Truly we can say  PRAISE GOD! HALLELUJAH!

Revelation 19:13  "And He was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood:  and His name is called THE WORD OF GOD."

This refers to Christ's second coming,  notice that His garment is sprinkled with blood.

This picture takes us to

Isaiah 63:1-6   "Who is this that cometh from Edom,  with dyed garments from Bozrah?  This that is glorious in His apparel,  traveling in greatness of His strength?

I who seek in righteousness,  mighty to save.

Why art Thou red in Thine apparel,  and Thy garments like Him who treadeth in the winefat?

I have trodden the winepress alone,  and of the peoples there was none with me:  for I will tread them in mine anger,  and trample them in my fury;  and their blood shall be sprinkled upon my garments,  and I will stain all my raiment.

For the day of vengeance is in mine heart,  and the year of my redeemed is come.

And I looked,  and there was none to help me;  and I wondered that there was none to uphold.

Therefore,  mine own arm brought salvation unto me,  and my fury,  it upheld me.

And I will tread down the peoples in mine anger,  and make them drunk in my fury,  and I will bring down their strength to the earth."

This is the end of man's little day on the earth.

The King is coming to earth in judgement.

We have to face up to this verse.

The next time that the Lord Jesus comes to the earth,  He will come in judgement.  There is no other way for Him to set up His Kingdom here on the earth.  If He came as He did the first time,

do you think that the world will allow Him to take over?

Do you think they are ready to receive Christ Jesus?

No nation and no church today is willing to turn their affairs over to the Lord Jesus Christ.

If they are prepared,  then why don't they do it?

The Lord Jesus was rejected when He came the first time and He is rejected today.

There is no other way,  other than that He comes in judgement.

THE WORD OF GOD tells us that He will come the second time in judgement.

He will put down all rebellion forever and He will rule as the King of kings and Lord of lords.

Every knee will bow before Him,   and every tongue will confess before Him,   that He,  Jesus Christ,  is Lord.

Psalm 2:6-9 "Yet have I set my King upon my holy hill of Zion.  I will declare the decree:  The Lord hath said unto me,  Thou art my Son;  this day have I begotten Thee.  Ask of me,  and I shall give Thee the nations for Thine inheritance,  and the utmost parts of the earth for Thy possession.  Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron;  Thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potters vessel."

The fury of His wrath at His second coming is in sharp contrast to His gentleness at His first coming.

God is moving forward uncompromisingly towards that day when Christ Jesus will sit on the throne here on the earth.

He is right on schedule,  not our schedule,  but His own.

There is nothing that can ever stop Him and there is nothing that can ever cause Him to change His plan.

GOD IS THE SAME TODAY AS HE WAS YESTERDAY AND HE WILL REMAIN THE SAME GOD THROUGH OUT ETERNITY.
