Christ Jesus is the Heir of all things.
Hebrews 1:1 "God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets. Hath in these last days spoken unto us by His Son, whom He hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also He made the worlds."
We are made joint-heirs with Christ Jesus when we are born-again, born-from-above.
Romans 8:17 "And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ;"
Joint-heirs is a very interesting word. It does not mean equal heirs.
When we are a joint- heir in a will, it means that somebody else has the control over our inheritance. The one who is in control of the inheritance, allocates just so much, at the proper time. This person manages the estate.
Our Lord Jesus Christ is in complete control of our inheritance and therefore we have an inheritance that is incorruptible, undefiled and unfading which is reserved in heaven for us .
We only have this inheritance because of the many wonderful things that He has done for us.
Our Lord Jesus Christ recovered for us that which Adam lost and He has made us joint-heirs with Himself. Christ is the One who will inherit everything.
No prophet was ever promised anything like that.
The writer to the Hebrews shows us that
Christ is superior to all the prophets.
He is more than the Creator.
He made the eternal ages.
He gives the program for the future and He gives purpose to everything.
The Lord Jesus Christ has a reason for everything that He has done and is doing and will do.
Dear reader isn't He most Gracious, too wonderful to comprehend.
He is God of very God.
Joyful and triumphant,
Oh Come ye Oh come ye to Bethlehem.
Come and behold Him,
Born the King of angels!
Oh come let us adore Him,
Oh come let us adore Him,
Oh come let us adore Him,
CHRIST THE LORD.
God of God!
Light of lights!
Lo, He abhors not the virgin's womb,
Very God,
Begotten not created!
Oh come let us adore Him,
Oh come let us adore Him,
Oh come let us adore Him,
CHRIST THE LORD.
Sing choirs of angels,
Sing in exaltation,
Sing all ye citizens of heaven above.
Glory to God,
Glory in the highest!
Oh come let us adore Him,
Oh come let us adore Him,
Oh come let us adore Him,
CHRIST THE LORD.
Yea Lord we greet Thee,
Born this happy morning,
Jesus to Thee be all glory given.
Word of the Father,
Now in flesh appearing
Oh come let us adore Him,
Oh come let us adore Him,
Oh come let us adore Him,
CHRIST THE LORD.
Words: John Francis Wade 1751.
Amen!
Now God created man and placed him in a beautiful garden, He gave him one condition for living there. Man was not to eat the fruit from a certain tree. This was God's test to see if man would obey Him.
Man entirely failed this test.
There were other times when God tested man. Then came the time when God gave man the Mosaic Law. It was again a test of obedience.
Man again failed that test.
No person is able to measure up to the Standard of righteousness that God has set.
It ought to be quite obvious to any person that God can never save us by our works.
Whatever we do, the very best that we can produce, can never be perfect - meet
God's standard of righteousness.
Isaiah 64:6 "But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf: and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away."
This is not only true of Israel but it is true of the entire human family.
Both Jew and Gentile alike have "all sinned and come short of the glory of God."
We are all as an unclean thing.
The righteousness that we - in the flesh, are able to produce, no matter how good it may look to others, is like bringing God our dirty laundry. The truth is, that one cannot bring a clean thing out of an unclean thing. A lost sinner is totally unable to do anything that is acceptable to God.
A lost sinner must first come to God, His way.
God in Christ, has made a way to restore to man what Adam lost - fellowship with the Father.
Christ Jesus is that way.
Today, we are a most fortunate people for we live in the dispensation of grace - the Day of grace, salvation is by grace alone.
Salvation is a gift from God.
We are to believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is the only Saviour of this world and we are to trust Him to bring us into a right relationship with the Father.
We can never be saved through keeping the law.
Firstly, the law was not given to us - we live in the Day of grace, and secondly because God knows that we cannot keep it.
Every single person must come to God the Father through the Lord Jesus Christ.
And to be able to do this, they have to hear about Him, who He is and what He has done for us.
They have to hear that He died on Calvary so that we could have the way back to God. Our Lord Jesus Christ is the only way back to God and only those who believe into His Name, believe that He is the one and only Saviour of this world are saved - born-again.
God cannot save man in any other way because He has set His own standard of righteousness.
We are to believe God, trust Christ for our salvation, and trust Him to keep us saved.
Philippians 1:6 "Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ."
The Holy Spirit has sealed all who are born-again, born-from-above, until "the day of redemption."
Are you confident that you have been sealed dear reader?
Right now we are living in the Day of our Lord Jesus Christs most marvelous Day of His Grace.
We are certainly not living in the Day of the Lord, we are not living in the day of the Old Testament, we are not living in the day of the Millennium and we are not living in the day of eternity.
The Day of Jesus Christ will be consummated when the Lord Jesus comes to take His own out of this world.
The Holy Spirit has sealed all those who belong to Christ - are born-again, until that day.
Are you confident dear reader that you will be caught up to meet our Lord in the air on that day?
1 Thessalonians 4:17 "Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord."
Only a step to Jesus!Refrain:
Only a step,
only a step,
Come, He waits for thee;
Come, and thy sin
confessing,
Thou shalt receive a
blessing;
Do not
reject the
mercy
He freely offers thee.
Only a step to Jesus!
Believe, and thou shalt live;
Lovingly now He’s waiting,
And ready to forgive.
Only a step to
Jesus!
Oh, why not come and say,
“Gladly to Thee, my Savior,
I give myself away,

Amen!
Those who are alive at that time will be transported to meet our Saviour Lord Jesus in the air.
We will be at the tail end of the procession.
The apostle Stephen, who was the first martyr, and all the other apostles who laid down their lives for the Lord Jesus, will come out of their graves along with all those who have trusted Christ, millions of believers right down through the centuries - most of the church has already gone in through the doorway of death.
What a gathering that will be.
We used to sing a chorus, and I always loved it, about this meeting when I went to Sunday school.
Yes a meeting in the air,
In the sweet sweet by and by.
I'm going to meet Him,
To meet Him over there
In the land beyond the sky.
No more sin,
And no more death,
When we meet Him in the air.
With Christ within,
The fight we'll win!
Till we meet Him in the air.
Hallelujah!
Rejoice,
ye pure in heart,
Rejoice, give
thanks, and sing;
Your festal banner wave on high,
The cross of Christ your King.
Refrain:
Rejoice, rejoice,
Rejoice, give thanks, and sing!
With all the angel choirs,
With all the saints on earth,
Pour out the strains of joy and bliss,
True rapture, noblest mirth!
Still lift your
standard high,
Still march in firm array;
As warriors
through the darkness toil
Till dawns the golden
day.
Yes, on through life's
long path,
Still chanting as ye go;
From youth to age, by night and day,
In gladness and in woe.
Then on, ye pure in heart,
Rejoice, give thanks, and sing;
Your festal banner wave on high,
The cross of Christ your King.

We are to believe God. (the work of God is to believe - believe in Him whom He hath sent) And we are not to grieve the Holy Spirit.
We are to trust God that whatever He intends for us, He will perform it until that day - the day of redemption.
When I look back over the past almost 60 years of my own life I can truly say that even though I lost my earthly father at the age of 12 years, my heavenly Father has taken very good care of me. I could have been far, far happier during the past almost 60 years of my growing up in his grace if I had just simply trusted Him more than I did. There were many times when I became so worried when I was faced with illness and many difficult situations.
The Lord Jesus Christ, Himself, is the Great Physician and He has told us that whatever He has in store for us, He will see us through to the other end.
We are in His hand.
As we get to know Him more and more in His Word, we are able through the Holy Spirit, to lean on Him more and more. We soon learn that He will never fail us.
Not
what I am, O Lord, but what Thou art;
That, that alone
can be my soul's true rest;
Thy love, not mine,
bids fear and doubt depart,
And stills the tempest of my tossing breast.
Thy Name is Love! I hear it from yon cross;
Thy Name is Love! I
read it in yon tomb;
All meaner love is
perishable dross,
But this shall light me thro' time's thickest gloom.
It blesses now, and shall forever bless:
It saves me now, and shall forever save;
It holds me up in days of helplessness,
It bears me safely o'er
each swelling wave.
'Tis what I know of
Thee, my Lord and God,
That fills my soul with peace, my lips with song;
Thou art my health, my
joy, my staff, my rod;
Leaning on Thee, in weakness I am strong.
More of Thyself, oh, show me, hour by hour;
More of Thy glory, O my God and Lord;
More of Thyself in all Thy grace and pow'r;
More of Thy love and truth, Incarnate Word.

Ephesians 4:30 "And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption."
When we have been born-again we are to live by His grace and we are to invite our Saviour Christ Jesus to live His life in and through us.
We are saved by grace and we are to live by grace.
Almighty, All powerful, Holy, Just, Righteous and Merciful God comes to us, and He reveals Himself to us through His Holy Spirit dwelling in us for we are now in Christ Jesus who is our Master, and Lord of our lives.
The real question we really need to ask ourselves is,
Is the Lord Jesus Christ our pure delight?
We are to ask Him to make Himself our pure delight. And I know that He will for He did this for me.
Psalm 37: 4 "Delight thyself also in the Lord: and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart."
I truly Praise God today that I can say that Christ Jesus has surpassed all the desires of my own heart.
He has given me things I never ever dreamed of or even contemplated were ever possible in my life. Oh dear reader may I at this point, shout out as LOUD as I possible can that
The Lord Jesus Christ is Good.
He is so very, very, very good.
And He is very God of very God.
"O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. O fear the LORD, ye His saints: for there is no want to them that fear Him.
The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing" (Psalm 34:8-10).
This verse is absolute and entire truth.
The more I learn about the Lord Jesus Christ, the more delighted I become in Him and the more delighted I become in Him, the more I desire Him.
He becomes as the old chorus says, sweeter and sweeter every day.
There
have been names that I have loved to hear,
But never has
there been a name so dear
To this heart of mine, as the Name divine,
The precious, precious Name of Jesus.
Refrain:
Jesus is
the sweetest name I know,
And He’s just the same as His lovely Name,
And that’s the reason why I love Him so;
Oh, Jesus is the sweetest name I know.
There is no name
in earth or Heav’n above,
That we should give such honor and such love
As the blessèd Name, let us all acclaim,
That wondrous, glorious Name of Jesus.
And some day I shall see
Him face to face
To Thank and Praise Him for His wondrous grace,
Which He gave to me, when He made me free,
The blessèd Son of God called Jesus.

The Lord Jesus Christ gives this universe purpose, His purpose.
We know that the sun comes up each morning and that the moon stays in a predictable orbit.
Why?
Because the Lord Jesus Christ is in full control over His own universe.
He is actively maintaining all of His own creation. He holds all things together and He keeps everything.
He is never surprised by any catastrophe.
The very air that we breath is given to us by Him.
He is real goodness and all mercy.
Oh my dear, dear reader, Isn't the love of our Lord Jesus Christ for us just beautiful, and His love is just too wonderful for words.
There will never be a sweeter story,
Story
of the Saviour's love divine,
Love that brought Him from the realms of glory
Just to save a sinful soul like mine.
Refrain:
Isn't the love
of Jesus something wonderful,
Wonderful, wonderful!
O isn't the love of Jesus something wonderful!
Wonderful it is to me.
Boundless as the universe around me,
Reaching to the farthest soul away—
Saving, keeping love it was that found me;
That is why my heart can truly say:
Love beyond our human
comprehending,
Love of God in Christ - how can it be?
This will be my theme and never ending,
Great, redeeming love of Calvary.

Now when we are joint-heirs with the Lord Jesus Christ we will suffer down here.
Romans 8:16-17 "The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with Him, that we may be also glorified together."
Whatever we are going through is just a light thing because the Word of God assures us that we have a weighty thing an "eternal weight of glory" that is coming to us someday.
"For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory" (2 Cor. 4:17).
Down here we seem to have a lot of trouble and the trouble seems to last so long.
But when we begin to measure it by the weight of glory that is coming to us someday, it is a light affliction compared to that weight of glory.
We are not to fix our gaze on the things that are seen.
The things that we see around us are all passing away.
The things that are not seen are the things that are of Eternal value.
Dear reader, friend, believer in our Lord Jesus Christ, we are
Looking for that City whose Builder and Maker is God.
Romans 8:17-18 "And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-hairs with Christ: If so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God."
"If so be" assures the fact that the child of God will suffer with Him.
I believe it could be translated "since we suffer with Him."
"The sufferings of this present time" are the common lot of all believers.
Our generation, which is enjoying more creature comforts than any other in history, frowns upon this statement, but even present-day Christians cannot escape suffering.
I think some of us will wish we had suffered a little more while we were down here on this earth.
The world is not waiting for the sunrise of evolution’s pipe dream. The pipe dream of evolution will never come true. However, creation is waiting
"for the manifestation of the sons of God."
Creation is like a veiled statue today. When the sons of God have removed the outward covering of this flesh, creation also will be unveiled.
What a glorious day that will be!
Psalm 90:4-10 "For a thousand years in Thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night. Thou carriest them away as with a flood; they are as a sleep in the morning they are like grass which groweth up. In the morning it flourisheth, and groweth up; in the evening it is cut down, and withereth.
For we are consumed by Thine anger, and by Thy wrath are we troubled. Thou hast set our iniquities before Thee, our secret sins in the light of Thy countenance. For all our days are passed away in Thy wrath: we spend our years as a tale that is told. The days of our years are threescore years and ten (70); and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years (80), yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away."
Even if we could live for a thousand years it would not be very long. - it would be like
"a watch in the night."
Life is very brief when we compare it with eternity.
The angels see everything that we do down here on earth - our secret sin is open scandal in heaven.
"We spend our years as a tale that is told" - we spend our years as a moan. We go through life moaning.
Dear reader if you do not know the Saviour - the Lord Jesus Christ, today, then you have no future to look forward to.
You just do not have anything to live for because you have no direction - no purpose in your life. The believers, those who have placed their faith in our Lord Jesus have a glorious future to look forward to.
Dear reader, are you a joint-heir with the Lord Jesus Christ?
Like the falling of a leaf,
Like the binding of a sheaf:
Be in time!
Fleeting days are telling fast
That the die will soon be cast,
And the fatal line be past:
Be in time!
Chorus:
Be in time! .... Be in time! ....
While the voice of Jesus calls you,
Be in time! ...., (Be in time)
If in sin you longer wait,
You may find no open gate,
And your cry be just too late,
Be in time!
Fairest flowers soon decay,
Youth and beauty pass away,
Oh you have not long to stay:
Be in time!
While God's Spirit bids you come,
Sinner, do not longer roam,
Lest you seal your hopeless doom:
Be in time!
Time is gliding swiftly by,
Death and judgment draweth nigh,
To the arms of Jesus fly:
Be in time!
Oh I pray you count the cost,
Ere the fatal line be crossed,
And your soul in hell be lost:
Be in time!
Sinner, Heed the warning voice,
Make the Lord your final choice,
Then all heaven will rejoice
Be in time!
Come from darkness into light;
Come, let Jesus make you right;
Come and start for heaven tonight:
Be in time!
Amen.
