2 Corinthians 5:17 "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."
"If any man be in Christ, he is a new creation: old things ..."
What does this mean by old things?
This does not mean a few little habits.
It means that I have a new relationship.
WHEN WE ARE IN CHRIST WE ARE NO LONGER JOINED TO THE OLD ADAM, BUT NOW THROUGH FAITH IN CHRIST WE ARE JOINED TO THE RESURRECTED, GLORIFIED SAVIOUR, CLOTHED IN HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS AND MADE ACCEPTED IN THE BELOVED.
ALL OF THIS IS BECAUSE OF OUR FAITH IN CHRIST JESUS.
ACCEPTED IN THE BELOVED.
When we are born-again God not only subtracts our sin, because the Lord Jesus paid the penalty for them, He does something else as well - He puts us in Christ and He looks at us in Christ.
When we are in Christ we are accepted by God just as much as He accepts Christ. We have as much right to be in heaven as Christ has.
Why?
Because we have His righteousness. We have no righteousness in and of ourselves, Christ Jesus imputes His righteousness to us when we are born-again.
We are either in Christ or out of Christ.
There is no middle path.
The only reason that we are accepted by God is because we are in Christ.
We are now able to live by His grace alone.
The Lord Jesus is the embodiment of grace.
We have been saved by grace and we are to live by grace and one day when we are with Him in glory, it will be by His grace alone.
A poor lost sinner who accepts Christ Jesus as their personal Saviour right now is saved immediately and is as much saved right now as he or she will be 10,000,000 years from now.
THIS IS GRACE DEAR READER.
THIS IS TRUE SALVATION.
THIS IS BECAUSE EVERYTHING THAT CHRIST HAS IS MADE OVER TO ME WHEN I ACCEPT HIM AS MY SAVIOUR.
THE VERY MOMENT, THAT THE HEART, WILL TURN TO THE LORD, THE LORD WILL SHOWER US WITH ALL HIS SPIRITUAL BLESSINGS. WE ARE FULLY ACCEPTED IN HIM WHO IS THE BELOVED OF VERY GOD.
THIS IS THE MOST EXCITING TRUTH THAT THERE EVER COULD BE AND I CAN NEVER EVER HOPE TO COMPREHEND IT.
I CAN ONLY PRAISE HIM, WORSHIP HIM, HONOR HIM, AND ADORE HIM WHO IS THE MOST WONDERFUL, ALL GRACIOUS GOD.
THERE IS TRULY NONE LIKE HIM. HE IS ALTOGETHER LOVELY.
When I think, grasp in my mind, about this great all powerful most adorable God who gave His Son willingly and the Lord Jesus who gave Himself willingly to die on the cross in my place so that I could be placed in Him how can I not completely surrender myself, everything that I am and have to Him. I love Him with all that I am, as much as I possible can because He first loved me and He made it possible for me to love Him. I know in my heart that there is nothing good in me, nothing that is lovely or pure. Absolutely nothing that is worthy of praise. If it were not for the grace of God I could never be saved. Even the faith that I have, comes from the Lord Jesus.
Oh it is a thing most wonderful, to realize, comprehend that this most wonderful Saviour, who has accepted me, just as I am, to be a vessel, a clay vessel that He can fill me with living water, just as He filled the water pots at the wedding in Cana of Galilee.
When we, as old water pots, are filled with the living water of the Word of God, God can use us for His glory and we are able through Christ Jesus to bring glory and honor, to His dear name.
The name Christ Jesus is above all names.
Those who are in Christ carry the glorious gospel of the Lord Jesus wherever He leads them. We are His ambassadors.
We have the message that will supply every need of every person topside of this earth.
The harvest is so vast.
We ought to pray and ask God to send out more ambassadors so that the whole world can hear about the marvelous grace and mercy of our great and wonderful God.
We are to tell folk that God will save them and that He invites people everywhere to come to Him.
The apostle Paul never ever forgot the wonder of his own great salvation. God revealed Himself to Paul and Paul fell to the ground trembling and astonished. The only thing he could think of to say was, "Lord, what wilt Thou have me to do?" Paul believed that it was God of very God who spoke to him. The very God that he was persecuting. God is the One who calls us to accept Him and when we accept Him, He accepts us just as He accepts His own dear Son. He loves the believer just as much as He loves His own dear Son.
The apostle Paul could exclaim, " ... Christ liveth in me ... " (Galatians 2:20). In Christ is the high word of this epistle.
The wonderful counterpart of it is that Christ is in us.
In Christ - that is our position.
Christ in us - that is our possession.
That is the practical side of it.
2 Corinthians 13:5 "Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates."
CHRIST JESUS HAS COME BY MEANS OF THE SPIRIT AS A PERMANENT TENANT TO LIVE IN OUR LIVES.
God is the One who has predestined us - made it possible for us to become His adopted children.
He has done this though the death and resurrection of His only true Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.
He the just One died for us, THE UNJUST so that He could bring us to God.
He met THE REQUIREMENT that God has set for man, to be restored to fellowship, with Himself.
God gave the Law to Moses and it was for the children of Israel but grace and truth came to us through His only true Son the Lord Jesus Christ. The Lord Jesus bore our judgement. He was made sin for us, He who was without sin died in our place upon the cross of Calvary so that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him. He paid in full, the penalty, for the sins of every person. His marvelous grace is sufficient for the need of every person who will acknowledge Him and receive Him to be their personal Saviour. The Lord Jesus loves to save all who come to Him for salvation. He came into this world to seek and to save the lost. This is His mission, He is calling out a people from this world, whom He predestined, to be His own possession and He justifies those whom He calls and places them in Himself for safe keeping till the day that He takes them home to glory. The Lord Jesus saves us and He keeps us saved. We are saved, according to His will. To the praise of the glory of His grace, wherein He hath made us accepted in the Beloved.
THE LORD JESUS IS THE ONLY DOOR BY WHICH WE CAN ENTER HEAVEN.
John 10:9 "I Am the door; by Me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out and find pasture."
Dear reader will I see you in heaven? I long to see you in heaven one day, your salvation is the longing of my own heart. It is my very earnest prayer, that as I write this page, you will hear, perhaps, the still small voice of the Lord Jesus calling you to come to Him for salvation. Please come to Him and see for yourself just how very good He is. Tell Him all that is in your heart. So many folk come to the Lord when they are at the end of their tether and that is totally acceptable to God. But how delightful it is when a person will just come to Him because of who He is, and just thank Him for all the things that He has already done in their lives, long before they ever acknowledged Him or were even aware of Him. It is God's will for you to "be accepted in the Beloved."
Psalm 34:8 "Oh taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man who trusteth in Him."
Chorus.
Sung by Losinda.
Altogether lovely, He is altogether lovely, And the fairest of ten thousand,
This wonderful friend of mine He gave Himself to save me,
Now He lives in heaven to keep me, He is altogether lovely,
IS THIS WONDERFUL SAVIOUR OF MINE.
Chorus.
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Sweetest name I know,
Fills my every longing.
KEEPS ME SINGING AS I GO.
Chorus.
JESUS IS THE JOY OF LIVING, He's the king of life to me,
Unto Him my all I'm giving, His forever more to be,
I WILL DO WHAT HE COMMANDS ME,
Anywhere he leads I'll go JESUS IS THE JOY OF LIVING,
He's the dearest friend I know.
SPIRITUAL SONG. My Jesus, My Saviour. Songs of fellowship 935.
Sung by Losinda.
My Jesus, My Saviour, Lord, There is none like You.
All of my days, I want to praise The wonders of Your mighty love.
My comfort, My shelter, tower of refuge and strength,
Let every breath, All that I am, never cease to worship You.
Shout to the Lord all the earth let us sing, power and majesty, Praise to the King.
Mountains bow down, and the seas will roar, at the sound of Your name.
I sing for joy at, the work of Your hands, Forever I'll love You, forever I'll stand.
NOTHING COMPARES TO THE PROMISE I HAVE IN YOU.
AMEN.
Are you, my dear friend, accepted in the Beloved? Have you made a decision to accept the Lord Jesus as your Saviour?
There is always a warning that goes out with the good news of salvation and that is that one day God Himself will shut the Door. The Lord Jesus Christ is the Door.
The Pharisees had excommunicated - put out of the temple - a blind man because the Lord Jesus had healed him. The Lord Jesus found the man and He revealed Himself to the man.
The Lord Jesus became the Door for this man.
John 9:34-35 "The Pharisees answered, and said unto him, Thou wast altogether born in sins, and dost thou teach us? And they cast him out.
Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when He found him, He said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God?
He answered and said, Who is He Lord, that I might believe on Him?
And Jesus said unto him, Thou hast both seen Him, and it is He that talketh with thee. And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped Him."
The very moment that the Holy Spirit reveals the Lord Jesus to us, the Lord Jesus becomes the Door for us also.
This blind man had been brought out of the sheepfold and he would now follow the Lord Jesus. The sheepfold was Israel.
The Lord Jesus was born in the line of David, He followed the Mosaic law all the way through, and He had thus come in through the door of the sheepfold.
The Holy Spirit opened the door for Him.
John 10:2-3 "But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out."
The Lord Jesus is the Door of the sheep and those who hear Him call them by name, come to Him and He leadeth them out because they are in Him and where He goes, they go.
He is the true vine.
The branches are joined to Him.
The Lord Jesus is telling them that it is no longer a connection with the nation Israel, or the Mosaic law but that it is now a personal relationship with Him that is what joins us to Himself.
The blind man came out of Judaism. He had to leave the Synagogue because the Lord Jesus had healed him and he, when the Lord Jesus revealed Himself to him, believed in Him and worshipped Him.
John 10:9 "I am the Door; by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, ..."
The Lord Jesus Christ is the only way of salvation.
He is the Door for both Jew and Gentile.
He is the way out of this world and into Himself. He gives those whom He calls to Himself eternal life in Himself.
Have you gone through that Door yet?
One day the Door will be shut and the DAY OF GRACE will end.
HYMN. Have you any room for Jesus?
Sankey's Sacred Songs & Solos 443.
Verse 1.
Have you any room for Jesus, He who bore your load of sin?
As He knocks and asks admission, Sinner, will you let Him in.
Chorus.
Room for Jesus King of glory! Hasten now His Word obey!
Swing your hearts door widely open! Bid Him enter while you may!
Verse 2.
Room for pleasure, room for business; But for Christ the crucified -
Not a place that He can enter In the heart for which He died.
Verse 3.
Have you any time for Jesus As in grace He calls again?
Oh "Today" is "Time accepted," Tomorrow you may call in vain.
Verse 4.
Room and time now give to Jesus, Soon will pass God's Day of Grace:
Soon thy heart be cold and silent, And thy Saviour's pleading cease.
AMEN!
PRAYERFULLY MEDITATE ON:
The Lord Jesus said,
John 5:25 "Verily, verily , I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live."
TODAY, THOSE WHO ARE SPIRITUALLY DEAD - SEPARATED FROM GOD - HEAR HIS VOICE AND LIVE.
John 11:25 The Lord Jesus said unto her, "I the resurrection and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
WHOEVER BELIEVES IN THE LORD JESUS WILL NEVER DIE, BECAUSE THE LORD JESUS HAS ALREADY DIED IN THAT PERSONS PLACE AND THAT PERSON WILL NEVER BE SEPARATED FROM GOD.
The Lord Jesus asked her, Believest thou this?
